Overview

The CEM Discover® microwave synthesizer with IntelliVent pressure monitoring provides a robust platform for heating sealed pressure vessels using microwave energy. Reactions are heated volumetrically, directly, and instantaneously, faster and more efficiently than any other form of heating.

Compatible vessel walls are transparent to microwaves, allowing energy to be directly absorbed by the reactants, limiting side reactions. This direct molecular activation provides a fast and efficient form of heating, completing reactions in minutes, as opposed to hours or longer.

Reaction volumes from 0.2 to 60 mL are possible, with temperatures and pressures up to 300°C and 300 psi, respectively. The system vents excess pressure as it occurs, reducing the chance of vessel fracture.

The integrated Explorer autosampler allows sequential chemical synthesis of up to 48 samples per queue.
