CryoPlus1 Liquid Nitrogen Storage Unit

Overview

The Thermo Scientific CryoPlus1 (Model 7400) is a liquid nitrogen storage system equipped with digital temperature display, liquid and vapour phase level monitoring, liquid nitrogen autofill system and alarm systems.

It has a high storage capacity of over 5300 (2mL) cryovials. Cryovials must be contained in compatible, triangular-shaped, cryo-storage boxes; which are available upon request to those using the unit.

Liquid Nitrogen filling is maintained by BI Staff via an external liquid nitrogen storage tank.

The liquid nitrogen storage unit is housed within the Small CL-2 mammalian culture lab.

  • Stored items must be compatible with the system and within the McMaster Biosafety Program

  • Users require active McMaster Biosafety Training
  • Approval of the type of biological work is required
