The FreezePoint® 6000SP is a freezing point osmometer for rapid, reproducible, and precise osmolality measurements of aqueous solutions. This instrument assesses the concentration of dissolved particles in solution to determine total osmolality via freezing point depression, thus providing valuable information in relation to formulation properties, sample quality and osmotic balance.
Measurements take advantage of freezing point technology to determine the total osmolality of aqueous solutions, by analyzing comparative measurements of the freezing points of pure water and of solutions, since the freezing point of a sample changes based on the concentration of dissolved substances.
Compatible with small volume samples, 50 uL, data is obtained quickly, in approximately 60 seconds. Designed with an automatic calibration, for either two or three point calibration routines, obtain high accuracy results. Features a touch screen interface, onboard result printing, and electronic data transfer capabitities.
Measurement range: 0 to 3000 mOsmol per kg water.
