Overview

The Kingfisher Duo Prime (Thermo Scientific) is magnetic particle processor for automated transfer and processing of magnetic particles in a microplate format.

A magnet, protected by a tip, is immersed into solution to collect the magnetic particles (which are bound to the molecule or component of interest), and transferred to a new solution (which may have equal or lower volume than initial sample) and released.

The Kingfisher accommodates 2 plates and 2 elution strips, for sequential analysis. The magnet head can be equipped with either a 12-tip (processing up to 1 mL) or 6-tip (processing up to 5 mL) format, compatible with specific 96- or 24- deep well plates.
