Thermal Cyclers and qPCR Detection Systems

Overview

The BI houses numerous thermal cyclers for PCR, qPCR and isothermic cycling.

 Biorad Dual 48 with C1000 touch base Thermal Cycler:

  • Features: one thermal cycler with two independent 48-well components with thermal gradients, use with standard 0.2 mL PCR tubes or strips, integrated touch screen, provides easy stand-alone functionality. Run information can be visualized in real time.

Biorad T100 Thermal Cycler:

  • Features: two T100 thermal cyclers with 96 well components with thermal gradients, use with standard 0.2 mL PCR tubes or strips, integrated touch screen, provides easy stand-alone functionality. Run information can be visualized in real time.

Biorad qPCR CFX96 OPUS:

  • Features: six-channel optical system with precise thermal gradient control to produced sensitive, reliable qPCR (RT-PCR) results for up to five-target detection, integrated touch screen, provides easy stand-alone functionality, combatable with standard 0.2 mL PCR tubes or strips, and 96-well PCR plates. Sample volumes can be as low as 10 uL. Lid temperature range of 30°C to 110°C. Run information can be visualized in real time.
  • Compatible with CFX Maestro™ software.

Thermo Fisher qPCR QuantStudio3:

  • Features: multi-channel optical system with precise thermal gradient control to produced sensitive, reliable qPCR (RT-PCR) results, integrated touch screen, combatable with Applied Systems (Thermo) 0.2 mL PCR tubes or strips and 96-well PCR plates. Sample volumes can be as low as 10 uL. Lid temperature range of 50°C to 110°C. Run information can be visualized in real time. Operates as stand alone or with a computer.
  • Compatible with QuantStudio Design Analysis™ Software.

Genie Isothermal Cycler

  • Features: isothermal amplification with two-colour fluorescence excitation and detection system, a single heating block, for use with 8-microtube strips. A simple and intuitive user interface, position sensing technology, built-in GPS capability, and the ability to operate standalone.

TekMatic On-Deck-Thermal-Cycler

  • Features: Compatible with 96-well plates. Compact design with superior well-to-well temperature uniformity of ±0.2 K across wells @55°C, 72°C or 95°C, respectively. Programmable within temp ranges of 4°C to 99°C (±0.3°C). Excellent heating & cooling rates and an ultra-rapid transition into the plateau temperature due to 3D Vapor Chamber Mount (VCM)®-based precise thermal regulation characteristics allow faster PCR profiles. The Heated lid is adjustable to any temperatures from 30°C to 115°C.

*The Tekmatic on-deck-thermal-cycler is incorporated with the Tecan Evo Assays Liquid Handler.
