Viscometer

Overview

The A&D Company Ltd. SV-10 Viscometer uses the “Tuning Fork Vibration Method” with 2 thin sensor plates, to determine solution viscosities with high accuracy (1% repeatability) and wide measurement range (0.3 mPa/s to 10,000 mPa/s).

This system detects the driving electric current necessary to resonate the two sensor plates at a constant frequency of 30 Hz and amplitude less than 1 mm. Viscosity is calculated based on the viscous resistance of the fluid and the amount of electric current require to maintain the sensor plates at a constant amplitude.

A temperature sensor, located between the viscosity sensors, accurately monitors temperature (0 to 160°C) during measurement. In addition to end-point readings, continuous measurements are also possible. Compatible with viscosity standards for 1-point or 2-point calibration curves.

Samples must be placed inside sample containers compatible with the system: 35 mL, 15 mL and 10 mL.
