Synthesis & Screening

The synthesis lab is home to advanced modular robotic workstations for high throughput assay development and optimization, and parallel synthesis of materials, small molecules and libraries of compounds, as well as more traditional custom synthesis. It also houses top-of-the-line contact and non-contact micro-arrayers and lateral flow dispensers for lab-on-a-chip and point of care diagnostic development, prototyping and scale up.

Tecan Evo 200 Liquids

A custom Tecan Evo 200 automated “Synthesis” or “Liquids” Robot designed for high through-put handling of solutions to fabricate vast molecular libraries.

Tecan Evo 200 Assay

A custom Tecan Evo 200 automated “Screening” or “Assay” Robot designed for high through-put assay development and analysis of solutions, materials and biologicals with a fluorescence microarray scanner and plate reader (M1000).

BI Equipment

The suite also houses various micro-array printers and dispensers (Scienion, Biodot, SpotBot) for high through-put fabrication, in addition to standard organic chemistry equipment (fume hoods, roto-vaps, flash chromatography, synthesis microwaves, miniblocks).
