Overview
The Bruker Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer (FTIR) is equipped with a Bruker Hyperion 3000 Microscope with a Vertex 70 Bench and HTS Plate Reader. An IR beam is used to vibrationally excite molecules within the sample and the molecules are then identified based on their characteristic vibrations. The combination with microscopy allows for chemical mapping as well as chemical identification of particles and small contaminants.
Instrument Uses
- Surface Characterization
- Functional Group Identification
